At Apex Design & Associates, we guide our clients through each stage of the design and development process, transforming ideas into practical, thoughtfully designed spaces while navigating the technical and permitting requirements along the way.

Initial Consultation & Project Vision
Every project begins with understanding your goals. We discuss your vision, priorities, budget, timeline, and how you intend to use the space. This allows us to establish a clear direction before beginning the design process.

Site & Property Analysis
We evaluate the existing property and applicable development requirements, including zoning regulations, setbacks, allowable floor area, height limitations, existing site conditions, and other factors that may influence the project. Identifying these requirements early helps establish what is feasible before moving forward.

Space Planning
Once the project’s goals and limitations are understood, we develop a functional program for the property. This includes determining room sizes, layouts, circulation, relationships between spaces, and other features needed to create a home that works for the client’s lifestyle.

Conceptual & Schematic Design
The vision begins to take shape through preliminary floor plans, elevations, and design concepts. We work closely with our clients during this stage to explore possibilities, gather feedback, and refine the overall design direction.

Design Development
After the overall concept is established, we develop the project in greater detail. Materials, exterior elements, building components, and other design features are refined while coordinating with structural engineers, energy consultants, and other professionals when required.

Construction Documents
Detailed drawings are prepared to clearly communicate the proposed project and satisfy applicable permitting requirements. These documents may include floor plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and other information necessary for plan review and construction.

Permitting & Plan Check
Navigating the permitting process can be one of the most challenging parts of a project. Our team coordinates submissions to the appropriate agencies, responds to plan-check comments, and works through required corrections to help move the project toward permit approval.

Construction Support
Our involvement doesn’t necessarily end when permits are issued. When included within the project scope, we can provide continued design coordination during construction, respond to questions, clarify design intent, and assist with issues that may arise in the field.

From Concept to Completion

Throughout the process, Apex Design & Associates serves as a central point of coordination between the client, consultants, engineers, contractors, and permitting agencies. Our goal is to simplify an otherwise complex process and provide our clients with a clear path from their initial idea to a project ready to be built.
